Masterclass Art Direction and Cinematography

In collaboration with the International Film festival of Oostende 2014 FFO14 the SBC will bring international art directors and cinematographers around the table to engage in a conversation regarding the practice and the methodology of film making. This will create an unique opportunity to get an insight behind the scenes. Illustrated with film fragments this masterclass will explore how film professionals work on a movie-set. Attention will be given to the procedures of the preparation of a long feature film and how and why, as well artistic as technical, decisions are made.

Talking points looked into will be:

Master the craft to make the art.
Collaboration between the Art Director and Cinematographer.
Dramatic expression for film through visualization.
How does it work in reality?
Relationship with producer and director.
