Bruno Verstraete

Bruno Verstraete, one of our beloved and most experienced gaffers passed away on May 6th.

Last Sunday, he had hosted a party for his 60th birthday in his garden together with Melanie, his daughter and a large group of family members and friends. Everything seemed normal, but his heart decided other wise.

Bruno started as an electrician in the mid 80’s and has since been a gaffer on many Belgian and French feature films and tv series. He also ran a company Avalon that designed and produced custom lighting fixtures that were ahead of their time.

All our thoughts go out to Melanie. They had just started their new home project in a lovely neighborhood in the country side, they looked happy, Bruno was slowly pulling out but still planning to do another film this summer.

We will miss you Bruno. God speed.
