Perdition County wins SBC award 2015

During this years Film festival Ostend the award for “SBC best cinematography in a short film” went to Rik Zang for his work on the film by Rapahël Crombez “Perdition County”.
Filmed in scope using bleak and dark tones, the film makes good use of the Irish landscapes to tell the atmospheric story of a foot soldier named Desmond, who defects from his band of scalp-collecting pilgrims. He sets out on an odyssey to freedom through the endless landscapes of a fictional county, attempting along the way to reclaim his humanity.
This award is an initiative by the SBC and the film festival Ostend to highlight the work of the younger generation of cinematographers. The prize consists of a participation to an Imago workshop.
Rik also served as the cinematographer on the short film ” L’infini” by Lukas Dhondt, who won this years Ensor award for best short. Also at this years ceremony Nicolas Karakatsanis picked up the award for best cinematography for the film by Bas Devos: Violet.
